A huge Thank You to all of you who donated coats for Treehouse during the Kids for Cans/Coats for Kids drive! Through your generosity Bryant Elementary will donate over 185 great coats for foster kids. All the coats are warm and are in new/like new condition. Remember that you contributed to kids in our community feeling warm and loved this cold winter.
Stay tuned for a tally on the amount of food collected for the Northwest Harvest food donation. We've been told that this year we collected almost twice as much as last year, so the number should be BIG! Thanks for turning these "hard times" into sharing times. With much gratitude enjoy your winter break.

Every year between the Thanksgiving and winter breaks, the Student Council sponsors Bryant’s participation in the Northwest Harvest “Kids for Cans” food drive, in which we ask our young people to collect non-perishable food donations for those who might otherwise go hungry. Collection boxes can be found in the front hallway outside the main office during this time. |

The Student Council is sponsoring Northwest Harvest’s “Kids for Cans” food drive. You may send in non-perishable food items from December 7 through December 17. During this period, students and families can bring put their donations in the bin near the office. Look for the letter and hunger article attached to the Weekly for more explanation. You and your children can check out www.northwestharvest.org for more information about why, where and how the food gets distributed. Volunteering to sort food at Food Lifeline in Shoreline is a fantastic way for families to work together to help others in need. Not just cans! Northwest Harvest can use any nonperishable food or monetary donations. They buy rice and beans in bulk, so they encourage you to donate other items. Here are some suggestions: - General food items: Canned fruit or vegetables, canned meats (tuna, chicken, ham, etc.), cereal (hot or cold), pasta, peanut butter, raisins (small boxes)
- Whole meals: chili, macaroni and cheese, pork and beans, soup, stew
- Infant and baby foods: Baby formula, powdered or canned milk, infant cereal, jars of baby food, baby diapers
