Bryant was a pioneer in the hands on science program adopted by the Seattle Public Schools for its elementary curriculum. The program was started by a group of Bryant parents in the early 1990’s with funding through the National Science Foundation. Every teacher at Bryant is trained to provide an enriching science experience using kits developed by a number of education groups. Each grade completes three kits throughout the year. The kits range from the study of electricity, composting, weather, rocks and minerals, fabrics, magnetism, and more. The science lab support science instruction on a daily basis.

The annual mentored Science Fair is a highlight of the Bryant experience for our fourth and fifth graders. Parent and community volunteers are an integral part of the science program at Bryant.
