"A team is a mosaic."
- Charles Williams

What an exciting adventure - sharing leadership at Bryant. I bring my enthusiasm, experience and energy to the Bryant school community.

I have experience as a principal and educator at the elementary, K-8 and high school levels. I have experience as a counselor and organizational consultant. I love the role as principal because it allows me to actively shape school practice by learning with and supporting skilled staff through shared instructional leadership. As principal I contribute to children’s excitement about and engagement in learning. What a great job!

The strengths of an organization lie in collaborative, focused implementation of shared beliefs, vision and goals. Student learning is everyone’s responsibility and I value all roles in the education process. Shared leadership and authentic collaboration allows everyone’s strengths to shape the school’s success.

Co-Principalship at Bryant Elementary PDF Print E-mail
Written by Maria L. Goodloe-Johnson, Ph.D., Superintendent
Dear staff, students and families of Bryant Elementary:

I am writing to share some news about leadership at your school. The number of administrators assigned to each school is based on the grade level span and also the number of students at the school. Based on projected student enrollment, an additional administrator will be funded for Bryant.

Ms. Kim Fox has been an excellent leader for your school and I appreciate the many ways in which she has worked with all of you to further strengthen the Bryant community. I am also pleased that we are able to fund this additional position, and I have appointed Ms. Gayle Everly to join Ms. Fox as co-principal at Bryant. Additional information about Ms. Everly’s skills and background is included below.

Ms. Fox and Ms. Everly have been discussing the most effective way to share administrative and leadership responsibilities, and they will be communicating this with you. They will also set up opportunities for staff, students and families to meet Ms. Everly and talk with both principals.

Graduation Poem PDF Print E-mail
Written by Steven Garlid

The Future

By Chase S.

We say goodbye to Bryant, the home of the hawks,

Where we started as eggs,

Enclosed and hidden away from the world around us.

Now we are ready

Ready to soar onward into the future.

We will meet people

See places we’ve never seen before as we age like a priceless wine.

We’ll face problems

Yet learn to overcome some to0.

We’ll put the past behind us and work hard to make our dreams come true.

Each of us will choose the path we’ll take,

Like playful dolphins choosing which waves to leap.

As some of us train to become soccer phenomenons,

While others inventors, doctors, or teachers

Just to name a few.

Though we will always remember Bryant as our launch pad,

Blasting us into the future.

Bryant, the home of the hawks.

Book Drive a Success PDF Print E-mail
Written by Steven Garlid

Bryant fifth graders in room 313 and I would like to thank the kids and adults in the Bryant community for supporting this year’s book drive, “Bookanoompaloompa!” The drive raised nearly 2,000 new books. The books will be donated to local non-profit, Page Ahead which will distribute them to kids in need.

Special recognition goes to Ms. Confer’s class who brought in 274 books. Honorable mention goes to Mr. Arango’s class (262) and Ms. Nguyen’s (175). We would also like to thank Sam McCracken for holding a book fair during the second week of the drive. Thank you, Bryant students, parents and teachers, for supporting this year’s drive!

Summer is a great time to read and for this last post I have collected a number of links to reading lists. I think you’ll find something for everyone! In addition, check out some of the Summer Reading Programs. It's always fun to have a little encouragement and incentive. So relax, kick back with a lemonade, and read, read, read! ~Mrs. Finnegan
