Bryant Parent VolunteersAs made possible by volunteers and special grants

While they have been supportive of this effort, School District resources for landscape maintenance are extremely limited. Improvements to the Bryant perimeter landscape have happened through the efforts of dedicated parent volunteers and grants.

Over the years, grant providers have included the Bryant PTSA, Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, and King County Master Gardeners. In-kind support and donations for the plants established in 2003-04 have come from Merlino Construction, Seattle Tree Preservation, Trees for Life, and Renaissance Horticultural Services, and Green Light Gardening.

Starbucks has provided coffee. In addition to parents and students, community volunteers have included Bryant neighbors, Bryant alumni, Seattle Works, Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, and Master Gardeners. Incredible progress has been made in a very short time with the combined efforts of this base of community support.

The continued success of the landscape overall is made possible through careful selection of materials for specific sites, volunteer work parties and maintenance by parents. Ongoing participation with the help of the community is encouraged for the future.
