Introducing Bryant’s PTSA Parent Speaker Series!

As parents we share many of the same concerns. When do we cut off screen time? How do we broach the dreaded sex talk? What can we do we ease our kids’ test taking anxieties? We’re all figuring it out but it would be great to add some tools to our parenting skill sets.

We’re excited to announce the Bryant PTSA 2016-2017 Speaker Series. We will be hosting 3 expert speakers on these parenting topics at PTSA meetings this year to support you! First up, families and technology.

Raising Kids and Finding Balance in a Digitally Connected World
Monday, December 12th at 7 pm
Please welcome our very own Emily Cherkin, a Bryant parent, parent educator and academic coach, to December’s PTSA meeting. Emily will use recent data to help us develop realistic goals for our kids (and ourselves!), and find better balance in our lives when it comes to screens and technology. We’ll discuss:

★ Raising your “Digital Natives” (and what that means)
★ Current research on screen use for kids and teens
★ The impact of screens and technology on brain development
★ The pull of screens and technology for kids AND adults
★ Tools and resources for creating a balanced “tech-positive” family environment

**LASER will be providing babysitting from 6:45 – 9:15pm – $10 per kid**
Sign up for LASER babysitting @ laserchildcare.org.

Bryant Blast Online Auction – Thank you!

The auction ended late Monday night and we raised over $23,000! We surpassed our goal and could not have made it without the support of the Bryant community.

Now what? All winning bidders will receive an email with the total amount of their winning bids. Payment drop off and item pick up will be available on Saturday, May 21st from 8-10:30am and on Sunday, May 22nd from 2pm-4pm. We will be in the small parking lot next to the Bryant Elementary Playground.

Thank you again for the supporting our Bryant students. If you have any questions please email us.

Thank you from the Bryant Blast Auction Committee.

Family Art Night Follow Up: Bryant School Artists Raise $308 for Syrian Refugee Children

154 colorful pinwheels were created at this year’s Art Night to send to the International Rescue Committee, Students Rebuild. With help from Girl Scout Troop 45144 we raised $308 to donate to Healing Classrooms to create secure, nurturing learning environments for Syrian refugee children.

Way to go Bryant Artists! We are proud of your kindly act!

Also, please know that the Bryant Arts Committee is looking for parents to chair/co-chair this fun family event next year. If you are interested please contact Julianna Batho.

A big thank you to the many parents and staff members who volunteered to make this night a success.

Gold, Silver, Blast!

Save the Date! Inspired by the Summer Olympics, this year’s Blast theme will honor athleticism and our very active students.

The Bryant Blast will be held on Saturday, May 14th from 12 pm – 4 pm. Plan for pony rides, fun games and activities, sno-cones, tasty food and much, much more!

Wanna help plan the Blast? We still have the following lead position available!
Outdoor Activities Lead — Plan and organize outdoor activities, entertainment, ponies, and more. Past Blast leaders will be available to lend extensive guidance!
