Bryant PTSA Board Positions for 2016/17

The Bryant Elementary PTSA board consists of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Membership Chair, Volunteer Coordinator, Fundraising Chair, Legislative Chair, Member-at-Large, and Teacher Representatives.

These positions are extremely important to our school and community. We are thankful for the wonderful and dedicated parents that fill these roles every year! If you are a member of the PTSA and have an interest in a board position or know of others with interest, please contact the Nominating Committee at volunteer@bryantschool.org. We welcome anyone with the desire and commitment to get involved.

For 2016-2017, we have several open positions, including Co-Treasurer and Legislative Chair.

The Co-Treasurer will maintain the PTSA books using accounting software, issue checks, and monitor the budgets of Bryant’s many clubs and committees. This position provides a stellar opportunity to know about everything going on at Bryant Elementary! Mentoring will be provided for this job.

The Legislative Chair serves as a voice to remind parents that the role of the PTSA is to engage and empower families and communities to advocate for the needs of school kids. Toward this end, the chair provides a legislative report at each PTSA meeting about current issues and identifies opportunities for parents to advocate for kids and our school via legislative, levy, and ballot measures. In addition, the chair represents the Bryant PTSA at the Washington State PTA Legislative Assembly in the fall. This position was filled for several years by Joan Crooks. She has offered to serve as a resource for a future chair, and would be happy to discuss the position with anyone interested.
