Writers’ Celebration 2019! Friday, June 7th

What is the Writers’ Celebration?   Every year at Bryant the PTSA celebrates the accomplishments of all our student writers by hosting the Writers’ Celebration, a schoolwide event during which each student has the opportunity to share a piece of writing – a book, story or poem he or she has authored — in small, multi-age groups. This is one of the few activities at Bryant that mixes all grade levels, and it is heartwarming to watch the older students help and encourage the younger ones. The students work long and hard on these projects and are very proud to share them with their peers.

Where do you come in?  We will need volunteers to lead a group of six or seven enthusiastic students for 50 minutes.  Each group will be facilitated either by 1-2 volunteer leaders or by a teacher.  Please note that due to space constraints, we will be unable to accommodate any additional parent spectators.

How do you sign up?

Step 1: In order to lead a group, you must complete all SPS volunteer requirements (which include a screening disclosure form, taking a short online course, reviewing online docs, and providing copy of photo ID). You can find the 2018-2019 Volunteer Requirements here. Please take a moment to complete all volunteer requirements. If you have already done so this year, you do not need to do it again.

Step 2: Complete the Writers’ Celebration volunteer web form or complete and return the paper form that will come home with your child in mid May.

Questions? Please contact Volunteer Lead, Brent Aliverti

Time to plan your grade-level bash!

Now that the weather is starting to turn reliably warmer and dryer, it’s the perfect time to think about an end-of-the-year party for your families.

The Bryant PTSA is excited to be offering grants for you to hold an event for families in your grade level. Bryant PTSA will grant up to $500 to each grade level to build engagement. The grant is intended to help you meet and form connections with each other, in the hopes that stronger social relationships will translate to a stronger school community for our children.

Some ideas for FUN ways to spend your grant:

  • Hold a potluck cookout at a local park
  • Host a game night at a community center or at school
  • Host a movie night with free concessions (the PTSA has a movie license that would cover this!)
  • Put on a talent show
  • Host a summer-time event to get families together outside of the school-year

Download the grade-level grant info sheet, or email ptsaexec@bryantschool.org for info today.

Our 2019 auction will be open all week and close at 10 p.m. on Monday, March 11. That gives you plenty of time to check out all of our offerings and bid, bid, bid. Remember, it’s all in support of Bryant’s PTSA.

So get in there and have some fun! You can also share this link with your friends and family, even if they’re not Bryant families. Everyone is welcome to participate!

Join our Bry-Centennial birthday bash!

Thursday, December 13
1:15pm Assembly • 5:30pm Open House

On December 13 we’ll ring in our Bry-Centennial, starting with an all-school assembly for our students and families. Come hear stories from former students and teachers, learn more about our namesake, and take in presentations from our current students.

Come back in the evening to celebrate with our extended community, including district and city officials, our neighbors, and long-time friends of Bryant. We’ll have light snacks and entertainment from Bryant years past.

Thank You!

Bry-Centennial Annual Campaign reaches 92% participation and we exceeded our goal of $150,000 in support of our kids!

Because of you, Bryant students will benefit from growth and enrichment activities, services and support. Because of you, Bryant students will participate in activities like art and music in classrooms, expanding education beyond math, science and reading. Because of you, teachers will receive extra support through classroom supplies, academic specialists and tutors. Because of you, kids will get the early intervention necessary and allow classroom teachers to focus on the class and provide each student the attention needed to succeed in school. Read more
